    Undergraduate: 1976 B.A. Degree with Distinction from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Chinese Language and Asian Studies.  Phi Beta Kappa.
    Graduate: 1979 Juris Doctor Degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.

    EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE:
    1979 Staff Attorney for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (an agency of the United States) involved in development loans and insurance in third world countries.

    1979-1983 Captain US Army Judge Advocate Generals Corps. Responsibilities included: Environmental, Labor and Administrative Law matters.  Served one year as a Special Assistant Deputy U.S. Attorney for the District of Hawaii, prosecuting civilian offenses on Army installations in Federal Court.

    1983 to 2019.Private practice with the law firm of Lyons, Brandt, Cook and Hiramatsu. AAL, a Law Corporation.  Shareholder and Director of the firm from 1988 until retirement in September 2019.  Engaged primarily in a litigation and dispute resolution practice in commercial, insurance, construction, real estate and professional liability matters.  More than 15 civil jury and judge trials tried to verdict.  Represented clients in mediation and/or arbitration more than 30 times. Served as a neutral arbitrator or mediator in more than 20 cases involving insurance, construction and personal injury issues.

    A. Griswold Attorney at Law.   Part time solo practice to assist a few long time clients in resolving outstanding matters.  Readily available to serve as a neutral arbitrator or mediator to assist in the fair and cost effective resolution of disputes.
