    David Tenner is special counsel at the Denver law firm of Ridley, McGreevy & Winocur, P.C., where he is an arbitrator, a mediator, and a court-appointed neutral/special master.  He received his undergraduate degree from Colorado College in 1981 and his law degree, with honors, in 1985 from Georgetown University.  Mr. Tenner received his AV-rating from Martindale-Hubbell in 1993, becoming Denver’s youngest AV-rated attorney.  Since 2009, he has been included in the Colorado Super Lawyer’s list in the areas of business litigation and alternative dispute resolution and in 2016 was named one of Colorado’s top 100 lawyers. He has been selected to Best Lawyers in America since 2017, in the areas of arbitration and commercial litigation.

    Mr. Tenner has mediated, arbitrated or served as a Special Master for disputes involving Business, Commercial/Business, Contracts, Employment/Labor/, General Civil, Injury/Torts, Insurance/Personal, Intellectual Property, Partnership/Corporate Law, Personal Injury, Premises Liability, Product Liability, Professional Liability, Public Policy, Real Property, and Securities.

    Over the years, Mr. Tenner has mediated dozens of cases.  He has been an arbitrator since 2011 and presided over more than 60 arbitrations as a sole arbitrator, panel member and panel chair.  He is a member of the commercial, employment, cannabis and large complex case arbitration panels of the American Arbitration Association and was named by Law Week Colorado as Colorado’s Best Arbitrator in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.  In 2023, he was named a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators.

    David previously served as both co-chair of the ABA Dispute Resolution Section’s Arbitration Committee and the ABA’s Annual Arbitration Training Institute, where he continues to teach.  He has also served on the Section’s Council.

    In addition to his arbitration and mediation practice, David has been serving as a special master/court-appointed neutral since 2008 and has been appointed by state and federal trial courts in over 50 cases since that time.  In 2011, he was named a Fellow of the Academy of Court Appointed Neutrals (formerly the Academy of Court Appointed Masters).  He serves on ACAN’s Board and was ACAN’s President from 2021 through 2023.  In 2025, he received ACAN’s Civil Justice Award, its highest honor.

    Mr. Tenner has made countless presentations on arbitration and special masters/court-appointed neutrals and is currently on the faculty of the National Judicial College.  He has also taught judges at the Colorado State Judicial Conference in 2012, 2018, and 2024.

    David currently resides in Denver, Colorado.  However, he has be an unofficial resident of the Big Island where he has visited for the last 16 years and where is currently looking to locate part-time.
