Abby Holden is a graduate of the University of Washington. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Hawai‘i William S. Richardson School of Law, where she served on the editorial board of the law review. After law school, Ms. Holden clerked for Chief Justice Ronald T.Y. Moon at the Hawai‘i Supreme Court. Ms. Holden is currently a partner at Cox Fricke LLP, concentrating her practice in the area of civil litigation and complex commercial litigation. Ms. Holden has been recognized in Chambers and Partners and Best Lawyers for Commercial Litigation, and is also recognized by Super Lawyers.
Ms. Holden’s practice encompasses a wide array of litigation matters, including commercial and business disputes, aviation issues, personal injury, construction, land use, environmental claims, and premises liability. Ms. Holden’s notable achievements include securing a confidential multi-million dollar settlement in a federal wrongful death case and obtaining a full defense jury verdict for a Fortune 100 company in a state subrogation action. As lead trial counsel, she successfully prosecuted a professional negligence claim, achieving a full jury verdict and an award for special and general damages, as well as attorneys’ fees.
In addition to her litigation successes, Ms. Holden has effectively defended clients in permitting and contested case hearings, and has successfully argued appeals before the Hawai’i Intermediate Court of Appeals and the Hawai’i Supreme Court. Her negotiation skills have led to numerous favorable settlements for legacy airlines. Ms. Holden’s comprehensive experience and strategic understanding make her well-suited for facilitating resolutions in mediation and overseeing and promptly deciding issues in an arbitration/
