    Judge Marks has served as a Mediator, Arbitrator, Neutral Evaluator and/or Discovery Master in hundreds of cases since retiring from the Hawaii Judiciary in November 2009. Her cases have presented diverse issues, including personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, commercial disputes, construction defects, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, real estate disputes, condominium disputes, foreclosures, trust & estate matters, elder issues and divorce.

    Judge Marks retired from the Judiciary after 21 years of service – 15 years as a Circuit Judge and 6 years as a Family Judge. Judge Marks presided over hundreds of trials and conducted thousands of settlement conferences.

    Judge Marks has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America and by Super Lawyers in the area of Arbitration and Mediation. In 2006, Judge Marks was recognized as one of the top 500 Judges in the United States by Law Dragon publication. In 2003, Judge Marks was named the first Jurist of the Year, an annual award given by the Hawaii Judiciary. In 2003 she also received the Distinguished Service Award by the Hawaii Joint Police Association.

    Judge Marks has also served as a Lecturer at the William S. Richardson School of Law and was an Assistant Clinical Professor and an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Hawaii, School of Public Health.

    Currently, Judge Marks is a member of the Board of Directors of The Mediation Center of the Pacific, United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii, Hawaii Women’s Legal Foundation, The American Judicature Society, and The Hawaii Soccer Association. In addition, she is a member of the Ethics Commission of the City and County of Honolulu.
