    The Honorable Leonard S. Wolf (Ret.) Judge of the Superior Court Los Angeles County, California, Retired

    Judge Leonard S. Wolf graduated from UCLA with majors in Political Science and Accounting, and from USC School of Law with academic honors. After graduating from law school he taught law for engineering and architectural students at the University of Southern California before becoming associated with Butterworth & Smith, a defense litigation firm in Los Angeles. He accepted a position as a prosecutor for the City of Pasadena which he left to enter into private practice in Beverly Hills California with the firm of Allen, Fasman & Wolf where he was involved in both the transactional and litigation aspects of complex contract and real estate matters as well as representing both plaintiffs and defendants in general tort litigation.

    Judge Wolf was appointed to the bench in 1966 and served as a trial judge in Los Angeles County for in excess of 23 years during which time he presided over innumerable cases involving tort claims, probate matters, family law, and contract disputes. He served as supervising judge of the West District of the Superior Court from 1986 to 1989. He served on the faculty of the California Judges College which offered training to newly appointed judges. He retired from the Superior Court in 1989 and has since that time been engaged on a full time basis in private dispute resolution with emphasis on mediation; served as a neutral arbitrator in excess of a thousand matters involving tort, insurance coverage, employment, construction defect, medical, legal, and accounting malpractice, and other complex civil litigation; served as a special master in environmental tort actions, to render accountings, and to supervise discovery and make factual findings in Los Angeles County, throughout the United States and in Europe. Over the years, clients have continuously commented on Judge Wolf’s pleasant disposition, work ethic and ability to settle cases. While he is known to be very personable, it is also known that he is firm in his deportment. His hearings are conducted in a relaxed style, he listens to everyone, and has an exceptional reputation for getting parties to move toward more realistic expectations without intimidating them and his track record with settlement is extraordinary.

    Judge Wolf is a member of the state bar of California, the California Judges Association, the International Academy of Trial Judges , and the America Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

    Judge Wolf is a part time resident of the Big Island.
