President, Jim Bidwell, Inc.
James Bidwell has more than 25 years of national and international experience in engineering, construction project management and development. He has a B.S. degree in engineering, a Master’s Degree in business administration and is licensed to practice law. He is a past practicing professional engineer and holds current contractor licenses in “General Engineering”, and “General Building”, and has numerous specialty contractor’s licenses. In a varied career, he has been a developer, the general manager of construction companies, a design engineer and has a diverse range of general business experiences.
As president of Jim Bidwell, Inc. he serves as a construction advisor and assistant to major contractor and developer clients. In this role he has performed claim analysis assignments for both the developer/owner client and the contractor client and their attorneys. He assists contractors and subcontractors in resolving claims through programs intended to develop and recover compensation for extra work, delays, scheduling variances or other compensable claims related to specific projects. He performs similar analysis on behalf of owner/developers in the defense of such claims. He also serves the client’s counsel as an advocate assistant in arbitration and mediation proceedings.
Mr. Bidwell has served as an arbitrator since 1982 on more than 100 cases and has served as a mediator or a Dispute Review Board member on many other cases. Mr. Bidwell has participated in domestic and international arbitrator training seminars and has trained arbitrators in Hawaii and internationally.
